Roderick Mountain graduated in Environmental Sciences from England’s University of Sussex in the late 1970s. Few people and fewer businesses took Global Warming seriously; the world was not discussing sustainability or energy savings. Rod took to the tennis circuit for five years, becoming fascinated by the game’s record-breakers.
Mountain’s literary influencers include Nicolas Sparks, Jeffrey Archer, Dan Brown – shared birthday, Bill Bryson and Stephen King. No surprise then that Mountain’s first novel is Priceless Union, a love-story-thriller, based on a remarkable true story from the art world – and the first of The Baxter Chronicles.
The second in the series, You Never Asked goes to print this summer so Mountain is embarking on the third, Hearts or Minds, published early in 2025.
Mountain has written non-fiction too: Beat Energy Bills and Climate Change and Game, Set and Facts – ready for Wimbledon 2024. His passions include all cats, from tigers to tabbies, living carbon-negative in Wiltshire, Worldwize, tennis, skiing and Ancient Egypt.
